Presenter

Ray is an anti-financial crime professional and founder of The Dark Money Files. Following a banking career managing trusts and investment portfolios, he moved into training and has run his own consulting practice since 1996, specialising in anti-financial crime, including roles as Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer. He acts as financial crime subject expert for Risk Alert 247, a regtech helping regulated firms, law enforcement and government agencies identify financial crime red flags in UK corporate entities.

A Fellow of the International Compliance Association, he contributes to its Certified MLRO qualification, speaks regularly for the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and co-hosts The Dark Money Files podcast — a leading anti-financial crime show followed across firms, regulators and law enforcement.




Principal Consultant

As a Principal Consultant at Square 4, Lindsey supports financial services firms to strengthen and embed effective financial crime frameworks. She works with clients on the design and enhancement of policies and procedures, risk assessments and governance structures, ensuring they are risk based, proportionate to the size and complexity of the business, and can be effectively embedded into day-to-day operations. Lindsey plays a key role in financial crime reviews, framework gap assessments and regulatory driven change programmes, helping firms prioritise activity and delivering sustainable outcomes. She works closely with senior leaders to translate regulatory requirements into practical operating models, supporting sound decision making, strong accountability, and constructive engagement with regulators.

Lindsey has over 18 years’ experience in financial crime and fraud, alongside a legal background. She has held senior roles such as Deputy MLRO and Interim MLRO, across small regional financial institutions, challenger and Tier 1 banks, and brings deep knowledge of UK regulatory expectations. Lindsey is valued for her sound judgement, collaborative approach, and ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice in complex regulatory environments.




Senior Advisory Director

As Senior Advisory Director, Nicky is a member of the Square 4 leadership team, helping to drive the strategic direction, growth and management of the business. She co-leads the Advisory service line, supporting the development and maintenance of organisational structures that empower all individuals in the team to thrive and excel. Nicky also leads delivery on Client Assets and Financial Crime work, overseeing all work in the areas of client assets and financial crime compliance, outsourcing and third party management. She has extensive experience of leading reviews and health checks, providing subject matter expertise to in-house teams and designing processes and controls for firms. She has worked with firms to prepare for and provide support throughout CASS audits, supported remediation and change projects and has led skilled person review teams.

Nicky has over 25 years financial services compliance experience with 18 of those years spent providing regulatory consultancy. She has worked with all types of firm, from start-ups to multinational corporations. She has broad experience of general compliance matters, outsourcing and governance and extensive financial crime compliance experience. For the last 11 years, Nicky has focussed heavily on client assets compliance and has deep technical knowledge and wide-ranging experience on the topic.

Mark is a seasoned Sales and Marketing leader with over 25 years of experience in SaaS, Fraud Prevention, Telecommunications, and other technology sectors. He is currently the Global Enterprise Sales Manager at ID-Pal, an award-winning and ISO-certified digital identity verification solution that enables businesses to streamline KYC, KYB and AML processes, globally, in real time.




Deputy CEO and Chief Product Officer

Mark joined UK-leading fraud prevention service, Cifas, in 2019 and leads the Product and Technology division. He has over 20 years of global experience in fraud prevention, identity verification, and building both B2C and B2B software products. Mark plays a crucial role in the fight against fraud by facilitating and innovating the sharing of data, intelligence, and learning, which has included leading the launch of the Cifas Fraud and Cyber Academy and member products such as Vision and its Intelligence Service.




Course Director

Ben is a Course Director at the International Compliance Association (ICA), where he designs and delivers a variety of professional qualifications in financial crime prevention.  During his time with several Tier 1 banks, he has been involved in many different types of sophisticated fraud investigations. He is skilled in open source investigation techniques to provide detailed analysis in customer due diligence and has conducted detailed source of wealth research which has included dealing with highly complex structures used to obscure ownership and transactions, such as offshore shell companies.
